What Will You Learn?

  • Programme Structure
  • Certificate in Business Accounting Level
  • The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) helps students with little or no accounting experience unleash their true business potential. The course provides core business and finance skills beyond the basics of financial accounting. Cert BA syllabus is the perfect steppingstone towards a career in business and finance.
  • The Cert BA is a qualification in its own right and forms a formal entry route into the CIMA Professional Qualification. Once students successfully complete both qualifications and qualify for membership, they will be awarded the Chartered Global Management (CGMA) designation. The following modules are taken at this level:
  • Fundamentals of Business Economics (BA1)
  • Fundamentals of Management Accounting (BA2)
  • Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (BA3)
  • Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law (BA4)
  • After successful completion of the modules in this level the student will obtain the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.
  • Entry Requirements
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Grade twelve (12) certificate with five (5) credits including Mathematics and English or equivalent
  • Completion of a level or equivalent gives entry to the next higher level
  • Operational Level
  • The CIMA operational level focuses on short term decision making. Knowledge and skills acquired at the level helps a candidate to use appropriate data and technology to translate medium term decisions into short term actionable plans. After successfully completing this level a candidate is awarded with the part qualified designatory letters ‘CIMA Cip MA’ and is ready to embark upon the management level. The following modules are taken at this level:
  • Managing Finance in a Digital World (E1)
  • Management Accounting (P1)
  • Financial Reporting (F1)
  • Operational Case Study
  • After successful completion of the modules in this level the student will obtain the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting.
  • Entry Requirements
  • In order to study at the level a candidate should have completed the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, AAT Professional (Level 4) or have an accountancy or finance degree.
  • Management Level
  • The CIMA Management Level focuses on translating long term decision into medium term plans. The skills and knowledge gained at this level helps a candidate to use data and relevant technology to manage organizational and individual performance, allocate resources to implement decisions, monitor and report implementation of decisions, as well as prepare and interpret financial statements to highlight business performance.
  • The CIMA Management Level is the second of the CIMA professional qualification. After completing this level, a candidate can progress to the strategic level, after which they become chartered management accountant. This level is made up of three objective test subjects and one case study. A candidate should pass all three objectives tests before moving to the case study, which tests what has been learned overall in the level. Completion of CIMA operational level is the main requirement to start at this level. The following modules are taken at this level:
  • Managing Performance (E2)
  • Advanced Management Accounting (P2)
  • Advanced Financial Reporting (F2)
  • Integrated Case Study
  • After successful completion of the modules in this level the student will obtain the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting.
  • Strategic Level
  • The strategic level is the third and final level of the CIMA qualification. After completing this level a candidate will be a chartered management accountant and can register as a member of CIMA. The level is made up of three objectives test subjects and one case study. A candidate should pass all three objective tests before moving to the case study, which tests what has been learned overall in the level. The following are taken at this level:
  • Strategic Management (E3)
  • Risk Management (P3)
  • Financial Strategy (F3)
  • Strategic Case Study
  • After successful completion of the modules in this level the student will obtain Membership to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (Full CIMA Qualification).
  • Entry Requirements
  • To qualify for this level, a candidate should have completed the first and second CIMA professional levels – CIMA operational and CIMA management.
